Salam, I’m Leena, I’m a new grad and I am trying to understand my purpose in this world and how to implement Islam in the modern world. I graduated with a bachelor’s of science in life sciences. It’s an interdisciplinary field of study with a focus on sciences that study living systems such as microorganism, plants, animals, and humans. Basically, my whole degree was electives and I’ve taken courses in everything from the natural sciences, anthropology, archeology, geography, economics, environmental sciences, and psychology.
Through this degree, I learned a lot about the world from an academic lens. As I learn more about Islam, on my journey to increase my Iman, I am navigating the false dichotomy of science vs Islam.
There are many ways in which science adds value to the world and our lives and helps us shape our lifestyle choices that will optimize health and wellness. However, Islam is also a way of life that guides us to better health, holistic wellness, and living purposefully.
In this personal blog, I share some of my thoughts and experiences about life, self-improvement, and finding the balance between Islam and science. I hope to inspire and motivate people towards bettering themselves and see a different perspective. If you are interested in self-improvement and seeing the world from an Islamic perspective, I would love for your to join my community where we can learn from each other and grow.
