I haven’t introduced myself formally, I guess it’s about time!
Hi, I'm Leena! I'm a new grad from McMaster University with a bachelor of science in life sciences. People often don't know what that is, fair enough, because neither do I! It's hard to define an interdisciplinary major but basically, my whole degree was electives. I've taken courses in pretty much every field of study from biology to economics!
To get to know me better, I have chosen some of the most important topics to share with you all!
Nationality
My family is from Karachi, Pakistan and we live in Canada.
Favourite subject
Anthropology. I love how this is an interdisciplinary field of study that involves, history, culture, science, and a bit of storytelling, especially in archaeology.
Most traumatizing course
Statistical methods for science. I am now terrorized by p-values and z-scores.
Career
I am on a gap year for now and I am hoping to have an epiphany about what I want to do with my life. My theory is that if I think more thoughts, the probability of having an epiphany will be more likely!
Hobbies
Aside from thinking, I like to journal, I workout, I like graphic design, and I'm currently learning to draw. I’ve bounced around making friendship bracelets and crocheting this summer. Stress hasn’t been eating away at my calories since grad, so I haven’t been cooking as much since I moved back home.

Most unpopular opinion
Puloa is better than Biryani. Objective truth.
Wildest aspiration
I’m fascinated by muscle building and fitness. When I first started my gym journey, I had bold ambitions to do calisthenics, a form of body weight strength training. I was humbled to say the least. I didn’t realize a single full push up is a level 100 skill. Maybe I'll have cool skills like push ups, handstand, and pull ups one day. Certainly not today.
My goal for this year is to strengthen my relationship with Allah. I was reading surah Al-Kahf and it mentions that we will be asked about what we did with the knowledge that we have. That's why I decided to start this personal blog to share knowledge and perspectives on things I've learnt on my self-improvement journey in hopes that it can help others as well. So subscribe, if you haven't already, to join me on my journey! I will write about navigating life, Islam, and a little bit of science!
I would love to get to know you all better as well, so leave a comment sharing your nationality, favourite subject, most traumatizing course, career aspirations, hobbies, unpopular opinion, and wildest aspiration!

Hey Leena! I can totally relate to what you said about your career. Your degree also sounds fascinating, and I love how it allowed you to explore different perspectives. I’m in my final year of studying law, so it’s nice to meet you!
