Nice to meet you Leena!! Lovely getting to know you 🥹 I’m Halima, ethnically Lahori Pakistani but born and brought up in the UK, my fave subject has to be English Literature ofc and I have aspirations to be a successful journalist and author one day!! For unpopular opinion, ig it would have to be daal chawal is my die hard favourite dish, I could eat it all day every day 🤭🤍

Nice to meet you too!! I can't wait for you be a stellar journalist soon Insha'Allah! Honestly, I agree, daal chawal low-key slaps! Especially with the kachumbar salad, I love it!

yessirr daal chawal goes so hard. hella underrated. but lemme drop the mic and tell you something crazy. put biryani masala in the daal and then experience an otherworldly daal chawal (don't tell my mom i shared her super duper secret recipe).

Ahhh will have to tell my mom to try that!! My mom puts fried chilli’s and onions in hers for more as well as garnishing coriander and it’s absolutely IMMACULATE 😩✨

Imma one-up you and say that Uzbek horse meat pulao with lemon tea and lepeshka bread is the best-est and tastiest combo ever. Hands down. Remove the horse meat if you want and it's still the best darn pulao I've ever had. I'm not Uzbek by the way.

Also, wanna share some of that artistic, big brain talent? Allahumma barik. Love the creative prowess. I've only really explored writing and singing as far as it's manifest when reciting the Quran.

And I think I'll maybe make an intro post myself. Or maybe I shouldn't? I dunno, how much info is too much info? I don't wanna make it tooo easy for a hacker ot stalker to piece together all my info online and then hide in my closet to kill me in my sleep, or worse yet, kidnap me.

Damn hella specific with that Uzbek pulao. I've been wanting to go to Uzbekistan ngl so I'll add 'horse meat pulao with lemon tea and lepeshka bread' to my bucket list. Have you actually tried this?

I just use canva to create the thumbnails. As for the creativity, sometimes its hard to find a concept to represent a post well. But constraints incite more creativity like sticking to a specific colour palette or art style. Reducing options not only makes the decision making process easier, it also requires more creativity to make new things with restrictions. Also as Steve Jobs once said (I think), simplicity is the best!

Bro saying that like he hasn't posted pictures of his campus online 💀. But facts though, hopefully no one tries to hide in my closet tonight.

Of course I've tried it! Why else would I be speaking so highly of it lol, and ranking it above the desi favorite biryani??

And hey, campus pics are way different from my home address. There are close to 60 thousand students that go to York. It's a legit mini city. But I don't think it'd be too hard to find where I live (insert skull emoji).

And I was more so speaking to the many different art forms practice, like drawing and crocheting. But you're spot on about thumbnails. As Tim Ferris (I think) says, "There is freedom in restraint."

Hahahah bet I'll definitely be putting Uzbek pulao above biryani then!

Fair enough, so long as you're not posting those pics while you're there.

I'm ngl I mostly created those things to decorate my room, once I ran out of things to make for my room I kinda stopped making things. I think having a purpose for making things makes it easier. I couldn't agree more with Tim Ferris!

Reading the intro can wait, had to come here and comment about the beautifully rhyming title...and maybe those sweets made my stomach grumble just a bit...

Also, how do you add thumbnails? cuz that image isn't in your actual post.

Thank you, it's a bit of a cliche title from the rhyme 'what are girls made of' I think. Hahaha it was hard to find pics of deserts that didn't have strawberries or bananas.

Ya, when you hit publish there is an option to pick a cover image and there is a small button that says add new, then you can pick a thumbnail that's not in the post.

Hmm alright, I'll try locating that "add new" button next time. Thanks!

I think it says 'upload new' to be accurate.
